A bit of my personal photography up on the blog today. I’m really lucky to have my very own four year old rascal to practise on when it comes to kids’ photography! A lot of my family photography work takes place in the most stunning locations – open fields, woods, beaches and parks are all really popular locations for a family photo shoot in Kent. I fancied trying something a bit different, using a more urban backdrop for some shots of the rascal. It helped that we found this cool graffiti and beautiful evening light just round the back of our favourite Folkestone eatery, Googies! They do the best burgers and amazing milkshakes and you can visit their website here: www.googies.co.uk.
My family and kids’ photography is super relaxed and my main aim with any shoot with kids is that they have FUN! There’s zero point in bribing or forcing a child to sit still and smile for a photo. The results are terrible (you know that fake “cheese” smile that kids develop after the age of about 3?! Yeh, that..). I genuinely have fun myself on my photo shoots and if everyone goes home with a smile on their face (and probably exhausted from running around!) I know the finished results are going to be awesome :)
Anyway, here’s Olivia! Let me know what you think of these (and the locations I’ve chosen) by leaving a comment below..
(If you’re planning on having a family photo shoot and would like to talk about using a location with a difference, do give me a call on 07841457799 for a chat about your ideas. I’m always keen to shoot somewhere new!).
