This gorgeous Shoreditch Maternity Photo Shoot is one of my all time favourites! Nisha and Kunal booked my 3-Shoot ‘Hey Baby!’ photo shoot package after seeing my work on Instagram. They were initially hesitant about having their shoot at home, worrying that there wasn’t enough space. This is a common concern for families when I recommend having their photo shoot at home, but with their gorgeous bright and stylish Shoreditch apartment they needn’t have worried.
London Maternity Photo Shoot At Home
I’ve not yet come across a home that I wasn’t able to capture gorgeous family photos in – it’s all about the quality of light rather than the space available anyhow. Big windows help, but I can always find some suitable spots for photos in any home.
Having their Shoreditch maternity photo shoot at home meant that Nisha and Kunal’s adorable toddler Kabir was super comfortable right from the start, and within just a few minutes he was getting excited about having his photo taken and showing me all his toys!
Activities for a Shoreditch Maternity Photo Shoot
I always recommend having in mind a few simple activities planned for any family photo shoot at home. It doesn’t need to be anything complicated! Some families love to bake or paint together, whilst others are happy all curled up on the sofa reading a book, or taking a stroll around the local neighbourhood together with a pit stop for coffee.
Kabir loves being read to by his mum and dad, so we incorporated into this Shoreditch Maternity Photo Shoot some sofa time with his favourite books. Kabir also loves bus-spotting from the window, and this made for some gorgeous shots (window light has my heart when it comes to portraits of kids!).
The shoot took place in the morning and the family decided to stay in their (beautifully co-ordinated!) pyjamas for the indoor part of the shoot. It was all super relaxed – at one point the couple relaxed on the sofa with the newspapers and a coffee whilst Kabir entertained himself by getting all the pans out of the kitchen cupboards!
After changing into outdoor clothes and a quick break for snacks and drinks, we headed outdoors to their apartment block’s lovely outdoor area for some more relaxed photos to finish off their Shoreditch maternity photo shoot.

A Newborn Shoot – a very relaxed photo shoot at home with baby in the first couple of weeks after birth.
A 6-8 Month Shoot – a third fun photo shoot as a family, now that baby is sitting up/crawling/generally a bit more interesting and doing more!
A beautiful fine art keepsake Storybook Album – worth £650 – of photographs from the 3 photo shoots.
