I have a rather lovely family photo shoot in Canterbury, Kent to share with you on the blog today! This was the third time I’d visited Goldstone Farm in Ash for a family photo session with the lovely Dunn family. I’d photographed both boys as newborn babies so this session was a little bit different, being able to get out and about with them both running around! Family photography can be trickier once little ones are up on their feet, but generally so much more fun. And that’s what it’s all about ;) As a family photographer who uses natural light whenever possible, rather than flash, I just love being able to shoot in the great outdoors! We were super lucky with the weather that day too.
We chose the blossom trees as our first location for the shoot, snapping some pics of the four of them as a family as well as of the two boys, and finished up with some play time in the family garden. I keep family photo sessions really relaxed, with no posing required – perfect for little ones who have trouble staying still (that’ll be all of them then..!). This makes the whole experience far less stressful for parents than heading to a studio for a family photo session – there’s no pressure for children to behave and certainly not for them to look straight at the camera and say “cheese”! I have lots of tried and tested techniques to bring out those natural smiles in kids – bribery is of course occasionally a necessity! ;)
To book your own family photo session or to find out more info, give me a call on 07841 457799 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Photo sessions are £95 for up to two hours (including a break in the middle for drinks and snacks) and digital images and/or printed products can be purchased separately once you’ve viewed the finished images from the session a week or so later. I work as a family, children and baby photographer in Kent and London. I sometimes travel further afield, and still like to shoot in Spain (where I used to live) whenever I get the chance! For more examples of my family photography, check out my ‘Best Of 2015’ post here.
For now, here are a few of my favourite images from my family photo shoot with the Dunn family in Canterbury, Kent.
