London Newborn Photography | Baby Gabriel & His Big Brother Sebastian
I have some more beautiful London Newborn Photography on the blog for you today, this time with baby Gabriel and his very proud big brother Sebastian. Plus his parents of course, and his grandmother who had come all the way over from Australia to spend those precious first weeks with her new grandson. I was so happy to be able to capture photographs of her with baby too! I’m always super keen to include grandparents in part of a newborn shoot where possible.
Sibling Newborn Photos in London
Poor Sebastian was at the doctors with his Dad when I arrived – not the best start! Turned out he had tonsillitis, bless him, but somehow absolutely nailed his photos with his brand new baby brother nevertheless. Before being treated to lollies and tv, of course. I love photographing new siblings together – it’s always fun posing a boisterous toddler on a big bouncy bed with a delicate little newborn! ;) Sebastian loved reading his little brother a story – The Gruffalo – too. So sweet!
Best Light for Newborn Photos
We were really lucky to have a beautiful full length window in the room we were shooting in. This let in some beautiful natural daylight, despite it being a rather grey day, and I love the portraits of everyone with baby Gabriel that we managed to capture here.
What If Our House Is Really Dark?!
Quick tip – natural light is really important to the success of your newborn photo shoot, but we don’t need much to make it work. Don’t worry if you feel your home is a little dark. When I arrive at your home for your newborn shoot, I’ll take a quick look around and find the best couple of spots to shoot in. Invariably this will be on a bed or occasionally on the (carpeted!) floor in one of the bedrooms, near ish to a window.
There’s no need to worry about clearing up before I come to do your shoot either – our background will usually be super blurred and any particularly distracting items can usually be moved easily enough. It’s all very simple! I’ve had a couple of people comment recently on how tidy my client’s homes look in my photos – I can assure you that in a lot of cases that’s all down to camera trickery. Who has time to tidy with a newborn at home?! ;)
Book Me For Your London Newborn Photography Session
I recommend you contact me well before your due date, where possible, to book your London Newborn Photography Session. We’ll book in a provisional date around 10-14 days after your due date initially, and then adjust the booking date as necessary when the time comes! The ideal time for a newborn photo shoot is around 1-2 weeks of age so this usually works well considering most babies are a little late.
For more info on the best time to have your newborn’s photos taken, check out my blog post on that very topic:
